Derek Mountfield is new ambassador for Wirral Sports Forum

Former Tranmere Rovers and Everton defender Derek Mountfield has kindly agreed to become an ambassador on behalf of Wirral Sports Forum.

Derek Mountfield was brought up on the Wirral and went to Mosslands School. He is an English former footballer who played as a fast and strong defender centre-back. His time at top-flight clubs Everton and subsequently Aston Villa were where he gained most fame. In league matches, he scored an average of one goal every 5.6 matches – an incredible average for a defender. In one season, he scored 14 goals.
